Consider adding an option in settings (default is off) that will enable a trash can or deleted items folder. Users can then recover a session that was deleted. Maybe there is a 30 day (or user determined) countdown until fully deleted. I accidentally deleted a medical consult and really wish I could have recovered it. I thought I had saved my session and that I'd started a new session so I deleted and confirmed via the red text box. I hadn't started a new session. My fault but a trash can would have been great for this.
